Third Year: BACHELOR IN ARTS

Tribhuvan university has launched four years bachelor’s course in BA from the academic year 2067/77 under the FOHSS. It is the interdisciplinary subjects where students can study compulsory English, Anthropology, Geography, History, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Nepal Bhasa, Mass communication, Rural Development, Social Work, Culture, Film Studies, Hindi, Nepali, linguistic and Population Studies within the same stream. The four- year course is of 2,000 marks (500 marks each year) and students can choose two subjects of 700 marks each as their majors and two subjects of 100.

There will be three compulsory subjects English, Nepali and Nepal studies. English will be of 200 marks, Nepali 100 marks and Nepal Studies 100 marks. English has been made compulsory in the first and third years, while Nepali will be compulsory in the second year.

The students will be evaluated on the basis of written examination of 70 marks, while 30 marks will be for internal assessment, including mini project, classroom presentation and teamwork for each subject.

Objectives of BA:

  • The Bachelor of Arts (BA) intends to provide students broad, comprehensive and multi-dimensional knowledge and educational foundation in the field of humanities and social science.
  • The course intends to provide extensive knowledge and skill development in the field of humanities and social science that becomes extremely helpful for students to make them successful in getting jobs.
  • The course intends to hone the analytical skills and wisdom of students so that they can be passionate activist in liberating peoples and communities from all kind of bondage that hinders overall human
  • The Bachelor of Arts (BA) intends to prepare students in such a way that they can handle the role of teacher and researcher and also manage social responsibilities in private and public sector.

Eligibility:

Students should have secured at least D+ in all subjects in Grade 11and Grade 12. or Must have completed the intermediate, Proficiency Certificate or 10+2 level, in Humanities or Science or Management Stream from Tribhuvan University or from any other University or Board recognized by Tribhuvan University.
